Al Hashar & Company has received the addition of the Proton brand of passenger cars to its line up of auto brands, fortified by the strong pre-sales, sales and after sales services across the Sultanate of Oman.

The new Proton is a highly innovative and technically advanced automobile, which upgraded its engineering capabilities when it acquired a share in Lotus Group International in October 1996. This stake was increased to 100% in 2003. Since the acquisition, personnel from Lotus are closely involved in Proton’s new model development, with a team of engineers permanently based at the design and development centre in Malaysia. Lotus is established as a specialist in the global automotive industry, both as a successful manufacturer of sports cars and as a leading engineering consultancy serving major car-makers.
The current model range in Malaysia now consists of Waja (Impian in the UK), Satria, Wira, Iswara (MPI in the UK), Arena (Jumbuck), Perdana, Juara, GEN-2, Savvy and the recently launched Satria Neo. While in Oman, the Proton models available would be the Gen 2 and Waja as a start.
